About Me
My cats have agreed they're willing to share me :)
I moved to Ireland two years ago with my husband - James - and we (currently) live in Co. Mayo with our two fluffballs - Boo (long-haired black) and Roli-Poli (Tuxedo) and our puppy, Bonnie (a lab/border collie mix).
Cats have been a part of my life pretty much since I was born (My Austrian family had farm-cats and we brought home 3 moggies from the local stables when I was 4!). I've pretty much been surrounded by them ever since, except for a few sad years where I was travelling too much to have them and I will always, always have a place in my heart for any cat who crosses my path.
My husband calls me the cat whisperer 😂 although I truly think it's more just a case of listening to what a cat wants / doesn't want and respecting the boundaries that they set for you. Some cats are affectionate and some cats are not, some cats are nervous and shy and others come bounding up to any old stranger who comes their way - it's purely a question of gauging them and reacting accordingly.
As a cat-owner myself I know how hard it is when you want to go on holiday or have to go away from home for a while and you don't want to upset them by uprooting them and sending them to a kennels. This is why I thought this would be a good way to incorporate not only my own love of cats but also help fellow cat-lovers in need and wanting someone safe and caring to look after their little fur-balls.
I've had experience with all aged animals ever since I was tiny myself, so regardless of whether your cat is a tiny baby or an 18 year old ruler of the roost, I'm more than happy to make sure they feel as safe with me as with yourselves. If you feel I'd be a good fit for your little ones, please don't hesitate to get in touch to arrange a get together so I can get to know them a little and you can ask me anything you might want to know more about. :)
I'm very good at adapting my cat-sitting skills to each cat in question. If they want cuddles, I'll gladly give as many cuddles as they like! If the need some alone time, I'll give them the space they're after. If they want to play, I'm more than happy to prance around like an idiot to keep them entertained!
Equally, if a kitten is in its training stages and there are certain things you don't want them to do - or want them to do - I'm perfectly comfortable taking guidelines from you and maintaining these guidelines in your absence.
Litter and feeding habits are no issue at all and any dietary requirements would of course be strictly adhered to.
I have experience with administering most medicines to cats although I'll be honest in that I'm a bit scared about giving injections (unless I have a lesson with the owner first so I know EXACTLY how it's done): pills, eyedrops, liquid medicines are all no problem at all though.
